Designer Deal Hunting


According to The Wall Street Journal, clothing manufacturers aren’t waiting until next season to sell extra current-season goods to off-price stores; they’re doing it now.  For the fashion industry, “this is a grab to get cash any way you can,” and high-end designers, like Prada, Missoni and Bottega Venetta are selling current product to stores like TJ Maxx, Loehman’s and Century 21, who typically buy up excess inventory and last season’s cast offs.  What used to be the domain of mall brands, like Express and The Gap, has now become a surplus of deigner fashions.
